EVERYDAY IS AN ADVENTURE
As life moves along we find ourselves juggling professional jobs, owning a home, and learning how to parent with keeping our priorities straight and living what we believe. Our idea of adventure has shifted from scaling mountains and traveling the world to realizing it is more about an expression of your heart's intention and passion for life. Adventure is the ability to think big about who you are, how you live, and what you can do in the world. In the midst of life moving at a rapid pace, here is our attempt at infusing each day, each project, and each relationship with intention, focus, and humor. Let's see how it goes...

Family movie night actually translates into "mom and dad having an excuse to lounge on the couch while Bloom and Anjali quickly lose interest". But there were a few short moments when we were all cozied together under a warm blanket. It was really nice.

We had dinner with Brandon. Lindsey, and Jude tonight. The kids love her and fight over who gets to hold her (I'm pretty sure they freak her out!). It is bittersweet savoring these precious moments knowing our dear friends will soon be moving.

Yes, you read that right. We left the kids with my parents and spent two glorious nights in Boulder. I found out that is even cloudy and snowy in paradise which gave us an excuse to eat every meal in a brewery to drink and proceed to the hot tub at our hotel. We even caught a movie at a theater!
2.21.2014
My dad watched the kids while my mom and I got out for a sunny, snowy hike. Most of my hikes are walking at a mere saunter while the kids are collecting rock for everyone they know. We managed to keep it at a brisk pace and I even had to shed layers! Yes!
2.20.2014
It's always nice to come to my parents house and enjoy a little change of pace. We always end up finding something fun to do!

This morning I was able to connect with Mindy, a woman who was kind enough to give me some professional advice and support. I am hoping to work with a population that can be challenging. This woman has been working in the field for years (and writing a book about it). It was so awesome to chat with her. She seemed genuinely happy to help me and offered me ongoing support. I can only hope that after working in this field for 30 years I will be as generous and kind as her!
2.17.2014
This afternoon I had FOUR sweet kidless hours to work on and write copy for my website. I actually really enjoyed this time and felt that I got some good work done.
2.16.2014
Yep, this happened today! Bloom went from Strider to pedal bike in about an hour. It was so awesome and exciting!

I have been experiencing a little yoga teaching burn out lately. I have been using any excuse to leave town or to need a sub for my classes. And while I am slacking, this guy, has been picking up the slack. He is an awesome teacher and a straight up quality person. I am so grateful for the incredible instructors at the studio! I am, along with the rest of Laramie, totally blessed.
2.14.2014
Tonight Heath and I had an actual uninterrupted conversation for a good hour or so! It seems like we are always conversing over screaming kids or just planning the kid pass off during the day. It was so enjoyable to drink wine and simply chat and remember that we are and have always been good friends.

2.13.2014
The kids are starting to cruise on their bikes. It used to be a painfully slow walk helping them get over and around things. But today, Happy (our dog) and I enjoyed a nice brisk walk! Soon I am going to have to wear my running shoes to keep up.
2.12.2014
I had lunch with these fine women today. I walked in and for a moment (then I whipped out my camera) I felt to blessed to have powerful, brilliant, funny, beautiful friends. These are the kind of women I want my daughter to be surrounded by! And then for the rest of lunch I bitched about Laramie...sometimes that connection with blessings just slips away.

2.11.2014
Bloom spent the entire afternoon engineering a train track that used
every piece in the box. I sat in a sunbeam on the couch and
just watched him work. It was pretty amazing.
2.10.2014
At the end of a long, emotional day I am happy to have a warm, cozy bed to lay my tired body...and a couple of warm bodies to shared it with.

Yoga teacher training weekends this year always means reconnecting with my good friend.
This weekend I got a bonus, Jillian brought Beth and I loved it!
2.8.2014
The kids spent the week with grandma and grandpa. Heath was in charge of picking them up while I was busy with teacher training. I always feel incredibly grateful when we are all back together safe and sound!
2.7.2014
Just like the old days. Enjoying an afternoon at work while sipping on coffee and
watching the snow fly out the front windows. I feel at peace.
2.6.2014
Savoring dinners, snuggles, and fun conversation with our good friends while they are still in town. They will leave a void when they go.

2.3.2014
Today I thoroughly enjoyed getting a mani/pedi at the same time! The only thing missing was being fanned and fed grapes. What a pleasant afternoon getting pampered while chatting with my good friend Lindsey.
2.2.2014
That's right, we are at a restaurant without kids or paying for a babysitter! The kids are off to the grandparents and we are enjoying actually talking over dinner. The Super Bowl was playing and the place was full of football fans, but seriously, they are nothing compared to the noise of children at dinner! Here's to a week of quiet dinners.

1.31.2014
On Fridays I have started getting up ridiculously early and meeting a friend for spin class. On this particular morning I noticed how totally calm and quiet it was. It was a good feeling.
